A sequel to the FMS Pitts V2 test is published in this Modèle Magazine January issue. Visibly seduced by the aircraft, Jean-Louis Coussot decided to add some details, to make some changes and to improve the decor in order to make it more "alive". We really like the motto of this article, which can be applied to a majority of so-called "ready-to-fly" models:

"It is not because all is done that nothing more should be done ..."


This is model hobby!

Here is what the author set out to achieve:

  • Realistic registrations numbers on the fuselage
  • Addition of the "S2" logo next to the Pitts logo on the vertical fin
  • Replacement of the simple tail wheel by a scale tail wheel
  • Added wing shrouds and "arrows" which help to stiffen them.
  • Painting of the exhausts and associated soiling under the fuselage.
  • Realistic painting of the propeller
  • Painting of the screw heads of the fuselage.
  • Addition of dummy cylinders in the gills on either side of the prop spinner.
  • Replacing the too small pilot figure with a more realistic looking and more realistic figure.
