If you encounter a problem of connection between a programming unit "Progbox" of SkyRC (SKY300046) and a controller of the same brand, the 1st thing to do is to update the "Progbox" but in the case of the speed controller 1/5 Toro Beast (SKY300047) this update is essential.
How to check the Firmware version of your Programm Box ?
Plug in the "progbox" to the pc, the screen appears "SKYRC PROG BOX FW: Vx.xx HW: Vx.xx" FW: Vx.xx = Firmware Version. On date of the 19 July 2016 the last version is the 2.05
How to upgrade the firmware of your Programm Box ?
Start by downloading the latest version of the "UsbLink" software. So far the latest is the V1.08. You can download it on the SkYRC site: http://www.skyrc.com/index.php?route=product/product/download&download_id=122
in the .rar file you will have two files:
In the doc file you will have to follow a few steps but be aware that you must first connect the progbox to your pc using a MiniUSB cable.
Your Progbox will illuminate and you will get the following message displayed on it: "USB connected to PC". Then you can run the USB Link programm. A pop-up window will start offering the update. Click on 'Yes'
rem : during the update, do not disconnect the progbox!
Attention : in the case of the ESC Toro Beast (SKY300047) when you connect it with the Progbox to the PC & that you launch the USB Link you'll have a pop up window with the message "Please upgrade to ProgramBox 1/5!"
Indeed to be able to use the progbox with the Toro Beast you must be under a specific Firmware (1.05).
This version of firmware is only compatible and usable with the speed controller 1/5 Toro Beast, therefore if you want to use the progbox with another speed controller type TS120 TS160,... you must change over to another firmware but the USB link program will propose it as soon as you connect the ProgBox to your PC:
