Press Review - December 2021

Modèle Magazine #843

December 2021

Christophe Rocourt, a glider enthusiast, reviewed the FSM 2500mm wingspan ASW-17. It appreciated its extended flight envelope, allowing it to track thermals as well as to practice aerobatic maneuvers. It emphasizes the speed of assembly, the ease of use and fly and the quality of the production.

Some excerpts from the text:

  • Versatility at the right price
  • The EPO foam is free of pins and smooth to touch.
  • The leading edge is covered with a plastic lining over the entire span.
  • The assembly only takes a few tens of minutes.
  • Note the surprising system of wing joiners: two threaded bars that screw on each side of the fuselage, and it's strong!
  • The rate of climb reaches 9 to 10 m/s… The passages at eye level coming from quite high with a good speed let hear a discreet whistle. Wings don't work hardly under load and I never had any concerns about their resistance.
  • The ASW-17 does the job honestly in thermals exploitation over flat lands...
  • Its great versatility pleasantly surprised me, as its flight envelope is wide.
